Welcome to the RISK (Reducing Inappropriate Surgery of the Knee) website. This page has been created by the TREK education group; a not for profit initiative to enhance the translation of current evidence into practice.

Purpose of the RISK website:

The purpose of this website is to facilitate the learning and development of physiotherapists; especially in the assessment and triage for individuals with hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA)

Pre-requisites for undergoing credentialing: 
  • Completion of post graduate musculoskeletal or sports physiotherapy masters program
  • Completion of the GLA:D Australia course
Credentialling and competency documentation: 

The DHHS website has and OAHKS workbook that outlines the competency standards and includes the learning needs.

  • Forms A and B found in this workbook involve rating your confidence on various elements of osteoarthritis diagnosis and management, evidence of competency and a self-directed learning tool.

The Osteoarthritis Action Alliance (OAAC) is coalition of organisations concerned about osteoarthritis with the purpose of raising awareness and bringing education about osteoarthritis. Click on their logo to the right to visit their website.
